Welcome parents to Pratom 1 Phonics activity lesson.
Today’s Lesson: Swat the Bug Alphabet Game
In our lesson today, the students will review alphabet recognition and phonic sounds. Materials needed for the game are Alphabet Bug Flashcards, 2 Fly Swatters and various pictured flashcards. The teacher will start by dividing the students into two groups.
Then place the alphabet bug flashcards on the whiteboard in random order. The teacher will then explain and demonstrate how the game is played. Both fly swatters will be placed on a table in front of the students.
The teacher will show the first two students a picture and then the students will pick up the fly swatter and race to the board to “swat the bug” that starts with the first letter of the picture shown. First student to find and swat the bug first will win a point for the team. The team that reaches twenty points first wins the game.This activity focuses on the student’s Physical, Cognitive and Social Development.
